We know (by “we,” I mean common sense New Jerseyans, not Hollywood, coastal elites or the mainstream media) that woke extremism is one major reason the Left lost big last Tuesday night. Taxpayer funding of sex-change surgeries for prison inmates. Pushing a sexual agenda on kindergartners. Biological men beating up women in athletics.
It’s this type of woke extremism that so many common sense New Jerseyans rejected on Tuesday when Trump got closer to winning New Jersey than any Republican since 1992.
Why? Because common sense is that a criminal’s gender transition (or really anyone’s) shouldn’t be the financial responsibility of the taxpayer. Common sense is that children should be children and that indoctrinating them with sexually explicit materials is abusive behavior. And that women shouldn’t be losing medals and scholarships to biological men – who were usually mediocre athletes at best before deciding to compete against women. That’s the “patriarchy” the Left should be worried about.
So as we look to 2025 and saving New Jersey from Left Wing Lunacy in offices from top to bottom, have candidates on the Left learned anything? Will they be moving from wokism towards common sense to, if nothing else, save their political rears?
If you look at gubernatorial candidate Sean Spiller, it’s clear they won’t.
Sean Spiller, the President of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) has been the center of some controversy for funneling NJEA resources (i.e., teacher dues) to his political campaign. But that’s just the beginning. A few days ago, “Drag Queen Entertainment” posted this video of their presence and “Banned Book Story Time” at… the NJEA Convention. This is on top of convention calls for “queering the curriculum.” The convention theme – “Learning. Equity. Justice.” should have told us all we needed to know.
The message at this convention for New Jersey educators? Pushing a sexual agenda on children is not only welcomed, but encouraged. This is grooming, plain and simple. And NJ educators shouldn’t have this agenda forced on them either, especially at a time when our students are struggling and they need to be focused on core academic subjects. This is all going on under President Spiller’s lead and it has his fingerprints all over it. He has all but said he’s running to force his NJEA agenda on the entire state of New Jersey. And let’s just call this like it is – crazy, and dangerous.
If the commentary from media elites and leftist insiders is any indicator, Spiller won’t be alone in continuing to push a woke agenda. But unfortunately for them, my hunch is that common sense New Jerseyans aren’t going to take it in 2025 either.
So what do we do? It’s simple. 1) Identify more members of the Common Sense Majority. 2) Recruit common sense candidates for the ballot at every level. 3) Get the Common Sense Majority out to vote in the Primary and the General.
It might be a simple strategy, but it’s not going to be easy. We need all of us working together to grab back that megaphone and save our state.
Here at the Common Sense Club, we want you to feel like this is your home. The place where you aren’t alone in saying “that’s nuts!” and the place where you can do something about the lunacy you see around you. So as you celebrate, make plans to get back in the fight with us because 2025 is just around the corner…
Let’s go, Common Sense friends!
For New Jersey,
