America (and NJ) first – sorry, Europe

New Jersey used to be a manufacturing powerhouse, but the industry has been in a decades-long decline.

The same thing could be said for much of the country, as we have faced a gaping trade deficit (i.e. we’re buying more than we’re selling). We were letting other countries reap the benefits of this arrangement while manufacturing jobs on our own soil declined and American workers – especially in New Jersey – took the hit.

This past week, President Trump said ‘enough is enough’ and instituted a wave of reciprocal tariffs.

Predictably, it sent smug and elitist European leaders into a tail spin of whining and bloviating – which is probably the clearest signal that this was the right call. Again and again, the Trump Administration has made clear that the days of us holding up the world’s safety and economies at the expense of our own are over.

America first. Finally.

I, for one, am optimistic that the rebirth of American manufacturing will start right here in New Jersey.

As the Left takes the side of Europe (with one media figure calling the tariffs “evil”), we need a platform for common sense here in New Jersey now more than ever.

I hope you’ll join us so we can keep speaking loudly and boldly on behalf of YOU, the Common Sense Majority.
