Did you see this headline?
Former Senator Bob Menendez was convicted on charges of federal corruption last year. He used his elected position of trust to personally profit and undermine the interests of the United States. He has been sentenced to serve 11 years in prison. Color me skeptical that he will actually serve that time…Â
The state is (rightly) working to ensure he’ll never hold any such position again.Â
But frankly, he’s not the only one who should be banned from public office for abusing their position.Â
AG Matt Platkin waxed eloquent about his passion for holding politicians accountable for corruption, which, frankly, made me choke on my coffee. Give me a break.Â
Platkin’s description of a high ranking politician using his office “for his own personal and financial benefit, betraying the people who elected him and the oath he swore to serve their interests and not his own” could describe the majority of Trenton and way too many electeds at the municipal level.Â
Consider headlines like these…Â
- Phil Murphy’s office using taxpayer resources to shamelessly promote wife Tammy’s US Senate bid
- North Jersey council president charged with illegal gambling, racketeering    Â
Need I say more?Â

What can WE do about it? Vote. Vote in the June 10th primary. And vote EARLY.Â
The only way to kick out the lemons in both parties is to make our voices heard at any and every opportunity.
I pledge to vote in the June 10th Primary!
Finally, I want to invite you to send a message to Governor Murphy and your legislators on two critical issues. We’re partnered with our friends at Americans for Prosperity and Jersey 1st!Â
- Stop the Sticker Shock! Tell your officials to STOP $28/Mo Electricity Rate Hikes. Go here >>Â
- Demand the Governor and Legislature exercise fiscal restraint and stop excessive spending in the state budget. Go here >>
Thank you for making your voice heard on these Common Sense priorities!
Let’s go!Â
