It may be April Fools’ Day, but we don’t really have time for jokes because we’re dealing with real, legit foolishness almost daily.
Last week, we flagged for you that Paterson’s mayor, Andre Sayegh, called his city the “capital of Palestine” in an alarming speech as Ramadan kicked off.
This is no laughing matter (see my husband’s op-ed on this topic in the NJ Globe. He has a very personal and credible perspective).
This week, it was reported that a Paterson cop was openly wearing a Palestinian flag on his uniform while on patrol.
This comes as an Islamic center in Texas is trying to establish a muslim ‘city’ → with Governor Abbot saying that the project is being investigated and warning that Sharia law won’t be tolerated in Texas.
Taken together, these are troubling events.
Leftist lunatics want to boil this all down to their typical diversity and oppression narratives, when in reality, radical Islamic rhetoric generally and the Palestinian flag specifically have become synonymous in the US with antisemitism and support for Hamas-led aggression against Israel and desire for its annihilation – and ours. To say otherwise is to be blind to what has been going on around us.
Pro-terror, extremist-Islamic ideology is in direct opposition to the principles of freedom upon which our country is built. Hamas and its ilk hate Israel and America and want to see us both wiped off the map.
You can’t be pro-Hamas and also be pro-America.
You can’t try to establish Sharia law or its principles and put America First.
You can’t call an American city the capital of a terror-harboring country and be fit to be Mayor.
We’re calling it like it is.
