Do you find yourself looking at your ballot and saying… “ugh…not him. Not her. Really??” This is a shared experience for us New Jersey voters. And unlike most of the country, with our even and odd year elections, we get to be disappointed on a yearly basis.
Are you continually having to vote for ‘the lesser of two evils’ or choose a candidate who promises the world and then goes on to be a disappointing, do-nothing, corrupt, run-of-the-mill politician?
I’m guessing you’re reading this and nodding. “Yes, yes, and yes!”
I call these politicians “lemons” – which I think is generous, to be honest. And I’m sick of feeling stuck electing them.
Where do many of these “lemons” make the initial cut to end up on our November ballots? Primary elections. When I learned that an average of only 22% (meaning sometimes it’s less!) of common sense New Jerseyans vote in our primaries, I gasped. But it also made a lot of sense. We the people aren’t making these choices. It’s the elites and the party leaders. Their interests aren’t necessarily ours and that is reflected in who’s ending up on the ballot.
So here at Common Sense Club, we’re taking action. Because that’s what we do.
Introducing our latest project (drumroll please…)…
Check out One Less Lemon online now >>
The goal of One Less Lemon is pretty straightforward: Elect fewer lemons and put strong, common sense candidates in office instead.
How will we go about that? 1) By recruiting common sense candidates, 2) targeting and persuading common sense voters who are currently MIA to vote for common sense candidates, and 3) GOTV – getting our folks to get out and vote (and vote early!) in general and primary elections. We’ve got to get that 22% up a lot higher.
One Less Lemon will be powered by the Common Sense Majority taking ACTION starting today. We have a big job ahead of us to turn the tide in 2025 and we need you. There are five actions we’re asking you to consider:
- Commit to voting in New Jersey’s 2025 primary AND general elections
- Tell us about a good candidate
- Run for office yourself
- Volunteer (door knocking, phone banking, texting, all that good stuff!)
- Give
The Common Sense Majority is already on the rise. One Less Lemon will channel the power of our newly awake majority to start saving our state from Left Wing Lunacy – one less lemon at a time 🙂 (The clever lines really write themselves with this one…!)
More to come…
