The Left wants to sound “normal”

I have a truly hilarious and therapeutic read for you.

Last Friday, Politico published an article aptly titled, “The ‘woke’ words Democrats should cut from their vocabulary” with an equally apt subtitle: “A new memo identifies 45 words and phrases for Democrats to avoid, alleging the terms turn voters off. They span six categories — from “therapy speak” to “explaining away crime.”

You can read the full piece here for a good laugh, but I’ll drop a few of my favorite lines below.

I think we can all agree these are aggravating, meaningless, and stupid phrases that no Common Sense New Jerseyan would ever use. And they have certainly driven the divide between the Left and the rest of us (or “normies” as the article hilariously refers to them). It’s just another signal of how divorced from reality and common sense ideas the Left has become.

BUT. There is a big but here.

The Left has always had an obsession with marketing (or, dare I say, propaganda, spin, and manipulation) precisely because their ideas are so bad that they must trick, shame or otherwise strong arm the public into supporting them.

So what we see in this article isn’t a realization that they’ve been peddling dangerous and harmful ideas that have destroyed our state and countless futures. They aren’t having an awakening. They are reeling from political losses and realizing the marketing isn’t working. They want to put a new face on the same bad ideas.

And we aren’t going to let that slide.

Because while the words are darn annoying, they aren’t the real problem.

Treating taxpayers like their blank check is the real problem.
Ignoring (and even celebrating) crime is the real problem.
Acting as if they own our children is the real problem.
Using us to enrich themselves is the real problem.
Flaunting the law and abusing law enforcement is the real problem.
Spending like there’s no tomorrow is the real problem.

The most “authentic” and “normal person” packaging can hide the impact of those ideas.

But hey, while we’re having fun, which words would you LOVE to ban from the Lefty-lexicon? Shoot me an email!
