We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the lunatics running for office in 2025, their dangerous records, and their disingenuous campaigns. Calling out BS is one of our jobs as the Common Sense Majority.
But maybe this has left you wondering.
What makes a good candidate?
I know what I’m avoiding as I evaluate candidates, but what should I be looking for?

There will be a lot of offices and a lot of candidates on your 2025 primary and general election ballot, and while some criteria are specific to the office, there are some principle qualities you should look for in any candidate for any office.
#1: Consistency. Have they moved with every political breeze or have they been consistent in standing for the same principles no matter which way the winds are blowing? And if they’ve changed a position, have they acknowledged it and explained their evolution in a way that’s genuine and believable?
#2: Integrity. Do their prior actions (votes, activities, financial support, etc.) match their words?
#3: Allegiance. Who do they answer to first and foremost? The people of New Jersey or the biggest donor, party bosses, and out of state elites and special interests? The best way to tell is by looking at the first two points. Where they lack consistency or integrity, follow the money (or the power). If you find consistency and integrity, that is a good sign they can’t be bought.
#4: Policy. Dig deep on their policies on issues that matter, like security, the border, the economy, and wokeness. If you can’t find their stance, reach out and ask for it. If they dodge an issue when asked, beware.
#5: Boldness. Are they unapologetic about what they stand for? Are they willing to defend it in the face of hostility? Now is not the time for spinelessness. Saving our state from Left Wing Lunacy will require courage.
We have a big opportunity in 2025. And it’s not just to get rid of the lunatics. If we don’t replace them with fearless leaders of integrity, we’ll have kicked the can down the road to be dealt with later – and to our detriment.
So I encourage you to begin wisely evaluating candidates as they announce.
And when you find winners who exemplify the five qualities, support them fully. The good guys need us.
