New Jersey teachers work hard, and many of them are struggling to provide for a family on their salaries. A portion of their salaries goes to the NJEA (New Jersey Education Association) — the state teacher’s union.
Do their activities benefit the teachers who pay them? We’ll let you be the judge.
Let’s break it down for you.
Sean Spiller is a Democratic candidate for New Jersey Governor. He is also the president of NJEA.
The NJEA has a history of finding back door channels to fund Spiller’s previous political runs with teacher dues.
According to new reporting by Politico, a new group called “Working for New Jersey” is planning to spend $35 million in the Gubernatorial race.
Shocker…the chair of this group is a former director of the NJEA.
The NJEA stated on the record that they would be supporting groups that have – ironically – the word-for-word same stated goals as the Working for New Jersey mission statement
And they’ve already endorsed Spiller for Governor.
Follow the money…
The incestuous and shady nature of this relationship couldn’t be more clear. And the abuse of teacher dues for political gain by Spiller and the NJEA couldn’t be more disrespectful!
Where is the transparency? Are teachers being told that the dues they are sacrificing to pay are going to fund the political career of the NJEA President?
ENOUGH!
This is a disgrace.
If you agree, let’s get loud!
Tweet (X), Instagram, or Facebook one of these! Let’s expose the corruption and collusion
As a concerned New Jerseyan, I’m outraged at how the NJEA is quietly funneling dollars to the political campaign of President Spiller. Are NJ teachers aware that their hard earned dues are being shifted to NJEA President Spiller’s political campaign?
ATTN NJEA: It’s time to tell the public how much money is being donated to political groups, which candidates are benefitting, and how teachers can opt out. Stop hiding. The NJEA is quietly bankrolling President Spillers campaign. Who loses? NJ teachers.
We can no longer sit on the sidelines and allow this type of behavior to continue in darkness.
Common sense majority, let’s get to work making sure everyone in our community knows about this. They’re relying on secrecy. That’s why exposure is step one to holding them accountable and ultimately bringing change
